Im pretty sure when you have a certain number of virtuous traits (the green ones) random events pop up that take them away from you, so i always focus on getting a combination of the best green ones as well as the best red ones, I'll list some good traits and bad traits i think are worth getting but this is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt.
